I advise student media at Whitney High School in Rocklin, Calif., where I teach journalism, publications, mass media, graphic communications and photojournalism. My professional affiliations include the Journalism Education Association (vice president), Journalism Education Association of Northern California (board member and past president) and Kent State University (adjunct faculty as an instructor for a graduate course called Advising Yearbook).

I enjoy reading, hanging with family and friends, cheering on the San Francisco Giants and Indiana Hoosiers, listening to live music of almost any kind, making grilled cheese and traveling.
