I remember writing stories since first I learned to hold a pen and string one word after another. Long before I truly understood story structure or characters’ development.
My stories have always been speculative to some extent. I think fantasy is a powerful way to deconstruct our reality and try to understand it a little better.

I’ve written classic heroic fantasy for a couple of decades. When I started working in a university bookshop, I discovered anthropology and my stories slowly edged toward a more historical, culturally aware kind of fantasy. Then, a couple of years ago, I discovered dieselpunk and my love for Deco art and the history of early 1900s took over.

I’ve been working to my current project, Ghost Trilogy, for the past four years. It a ghost story set in Prohibition Era Chicago.
