Saud Alsharif

Saud Alsharif focuses on Entrepreneurship and is a member of the Collegiate Entrepreneurs' Organization. Community engagement constitutes an important part of Mr. Alsharif's extracurricular life: He is involved in the nonprofit venture the ActiveIST, which focuses on information exchange and event planning as a way of connecting diverse community members for the civic good. He also volunteers with Feed the Need, an assistance program for those living on the streets, and competes in fundraising walk/run events for the charity, in which entry fees are paid in canned goods and all money earned goes to local food pantries.

Saud Alsharif also volunteers with Social Capital Inc., a nonprofit in North Woburn, Massachusetts, that seeks to build bonds in the community through connecting organizations and residents for neighborhood activities. One such activity was an event in the spring of 2012 that brought together volunteers to plant a Giving Garden at Woburn's North Suburban YMCA, which has since produced abundant fruits and vegetables.

Saud Alsharif has also participated in community athletic events at gyms and public parks and has volunteered at Good Sports Inc., assisting in sporting goods distribution efforts that benefit youth throughout the greater Boston area. Mr. Alsharif's "think local" focus also leads him to support local businesses by trying out new area restaurants and shops.

Saud Alsharif loves to travel and hopes to use the multicultural insight gleaned from visiting other countries to become a more effective social entrepreneur. In particular, Saud Alsharif hopes to use business to effectively reach out to less fortunate populations in humane and compassionate ways.
