Seth Barber

Salem, OR, USA

I have spent the last 17 years as both a computer programmer and a SysAdmin. Five years ago I made the transition to a work-at-home job at the arrival of my firstborn; now I have two beautiful daughters, and I've been blessed to see their first steps and hear their first words. It doesn't get any better than watching my children grow while earning a living.

I have a deep and abiding love for Jesus Christ, so much so that I completed my Bachelor's of Science degree in biblical studies. I have the honor of teaching an adult Sunday School class at my church, which continually challenges me to learn and grow both as a Christian and as a man. It is at times hard to see the connection between software development and theology, but the more I design applications and write code, the more I learn about God.

My hands are wrapped around a fountain pen as often as they are flying across a keyboard. I embrace both analog and digital worlds seeking for the most efficient use of the tools and skills of our past and present. I dabble at calligraphy. I take photographs but I'm not a photographer. I love stories of all kinds, and if I'm not spending time with my family you'll find me reading or writing a story. I am more at home in the fog and the rain, than in the sun and am happy to call the Willamette Valley home.
