Fred Schutz

Fred Schutz is a true Renaissance man with expertise in numerous areas. He is a widowed father of 3 children with 6 grandchildren, a US Army veteran, retired Chicago Public School teacher, World Class athlete and bodybuilder (Mr. Chicago '58 and Mr. Universe over '70) and recently inducted into the 2010 National Fitness Hall of Fame.

Fred has worked in film, TV, radio, commercials and on the stage. Some noteworthy accomplishments include the role of Mr.Klein in With You and Father Isom in the drama Pieces of a Dream. In broadcast television, Fred was an extra on several episodes of The Untouchables and Early Edition. Over the past two years you may also have seen Fred in the American Cancer Society national commercial and heard his voice in radio ads for ACS. Fred is also comfortable acting on stage in front of a live audience and some recent work includes roles in stage productions of Proof as Robert, A Midsummer Night's Dream as Egeus/Snug/Lion, Inherit the Wind as Drummond, Little Women as Papa, and The Crucible as Giles Corey. Fred also has modeling experience and has done industrials.

Training includes classes at Act 1, Sarantos Studios, Chicago Actors Studio, Metropolis Performing Arts Theater, Shakespeare Theater, and Acting Studio Chicago. Fred enjoys acting and is a lifelong student. He continues to study acting, especially in his time between projects.
