Scott Nelson

Sometime toward the end of 1994, New Zealander Scott Nelson traded his job as a reporter, feature writer and photographer on a daily newspaper for a one-way ticket to London, England - and began using the city (including the City) as a base for six years of backpacking around five continents. Along the way, Scott worked as a travel, entertainment and business journalist; a corporate writer and editor, a tour guide; a pourer of pints, a salesman, a gas jockey on the Jersey Shore - and as a live-in carer looking after elderly men and women with advanced dementia.

The Carer, Scott's third book, follows Common Sense Ain't So Common (a non-fiction compilation of the author's favourite quotes and maxims) and also the travelog Gringos and Flamingos: a Fat Bastard's Guide to Trekking in the Andes.
