Scott Kinnear

After eight years with IBM as a programmer working on a variety of different software engineering systems and projects, Scott Kinnear joined a small group of entrepreneurs developing business applications for personal computers. Citrix Systems, Inc., has since grown into a major worldwide developer of cloud-based applications and enterprise software solutions for individuals and businesses everywhere. As the fourth-recruited member of the Citrix team, Scott Kinnear was instrumental in setting the company's policies, direction, and culture. When he departed Citrix in 2001, Kinnear was the company's Vice President for Worldwide Products, leading a team of over 500 people in eight different offices all over the world.

In 2005, together with colleagues he had worked with in the past, Scott Kinnear founded Myxer, Inc., a social entertainment company dedicated to giving consumers access to free media content on their mobile devices. The company's catalog currently comprises more than 15 million pieces of music, ringtones, games, apps, images, and video content. While some of the content is premium indexed, a great deal is free, and Myxer generally imposes no charge for the part it plays in giving consumers access to the content.

For the first three years of Myxer's existence, Scott Kinnear held the titles of President, Chairman, and CEO of the fledgling enterprise, taking charge of a number of critical functions. He raised seed capital of approximately $2 million, followed by institutional funding rounds that raised an additional $10 million. Building the company literally from scratch, Kinnear established not only its corporate governance, financial policies, and operations, but also its organization and culture. He developed and managed a strategic marketing plan, exercised oversight of the start-up's advertising and business development elements, and managed all finance, accounting, and compliance issues.

Since 2011, Scott Kinnear has served Myxer as Chairman of the Board of Directors, recruiting top executive and technical talent and networking with similarly situated executives inside and outside the industry. In addition, he supervises much of the company's investor relations.
