Scott L. Scarborough

As the Senior Vice President and Executive Director of The University of Toledo Medical Center in Ohio, Scott L. Scarborough manages the daily operations of the University’s affiliated hospitals, outpatient clinics, and Level I trauma center. Since 2010, Scott L. Scarborough has served the only academic medical center in Northwestern Ohio, taking responsibility for the smooth operation of the specialty care facilities. The University of Toledo Medical Center (UTMC) provides expert services in the medical fields of orthopedics, neurology, cardiology, cancer treatment, and kidney transplantation as well as other surgical procedures.

Before being promoted to Senior Vice President and Executive Director, Scott L. Scarborough was the Chief Financial Officer and the Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration at The University of Toledo Medical Center from 2007 to 2011. During this time, The University of Toledo was the third largest public research university in Ohio. He supervised the accounting and finances for an operating budget of over $800 million. Responsible for the University, the Medical Center, and its hospitals and clinics, Scott L. Scarborough managed university and hospital accounting and finance including patient access, health information management, patient accounts,information technology and internal auditing.

Besides his many years working in executive management and business finance, Scott L. Scarborough has extensive experience teaching in his expertise. He has taught Introduction to Auditing at St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas; Strategy & Business Policy at The University of Texas at Tyler; and Financial Management at The University of Toledo. Additionally, Scott L. Scarborough taught Management Strategy, Financial Statement and Security Analysis, and Financial Management at DePaul University, the largest Catholic university in the United States.
