Football and wrestling, the norm for any boy growing up in rural Ohio, influenced my life at an early age. To stay enrolled on the football team, weightlifting was one of the few mandatory exercises. Not only did it keep me in shape on the field, I am pleased to say that weightlifting became a part of my life.

Once high school ended, I pursued powerlifting with much enthusiasm that it caused an associated back injury; thus, halting my short-lived career. In the years following, I continued to compete in bodybuilding all the while I acquired my personal training license. Only a few years later after yet another back injury did I discover the benefits of yoga.

I've practised various styles of yoga including the well-known hatha and ashtanga. I was introduced to SwáSthya Yôga a few years ago. As with other yoga styles, the goal of SwáSthya is to achieve samádhi, an elevated state of consciousness. Its' sole focus is to first enhance the quality of one's life before improving the life of others. First change yourself, then change the world.

This awakened me to the very moment I knew I wanted to share the of SwáSthya with others as this practise brought me absolute joy and convalescent quality of life.
