Simon Overell

I'm a Data Scientist and Web Miner with a keen interest in Startups and a PhD in Information Retrieval. My background is in Classification, NLP, Machine Learning, Statistical Analysis, Web Search and AI. I've written papers on Geographic Disambiguation and Modelling, Patents on Classification and Accurate NLP at Scale and given talks on Extracting Data from Wikipedia and the Web. Since the sale of spider.io, I've been defending Google from video and display ad fraud.

My spare time is spent outside with my wife and son, ideally up a mountain or on a bike; occasionally in a pub or taking photos of my pet rabbits. When I'm not building software, I build furniture.
