Shaina Eng

Born and raised in a suburb of Los Angeles, I am a graduating senior studying Public Relations at USC's Annenberg School of Communications and Journalism, with a minor in French.

I am currently working for The Walt Disney Company as HR Communications & Engagement Associate, where I work closely with the VP of HR Communication Strategy and the SVP of Enterprise Human Resources on a variety of projects, including employee value proposition work, employee engagement projects and event planning and logistics.

During the summer of 2013, I worked as a media relations intern for the CBS Network. At CBS, I learned about crisis communications during Big Brother's controversial 15th season, helped with the publicity and social media efforts that supported the release of the network's new fall shows, created written materials for existing CBS shows, and provided assistance during press events (most notably, the TCA Press Tour and afterparty).

Before my internship with CBS, I was an intern with Click Communications, an online public relations agency located in North Hollywood. With Click, I was responsible for researching new online media contacts, compiling a press database, crafting and sending pitches to online journalists and bloggers, and helping with creative brainstorming for various publicity efforts.

I also previously interned with Outward Media, Inc., a multi-channel marketing data firm, where I created an interactive social media strategy that led to a 200 percent increase in brand awareness and online influence. I have also been involved with the Neon Tommy, an online news site sponsored by USC Annenberg, where I have written articles for the entertainment and art sections.

I love music, and I am the concert chair for the USC a cappella group Overflow, for which I plan all of the group's shows. I have also handled all external communications and coordinate performance opportunities in my prior position as business manager. Additionally, as a fan of the a cappella group Straight No Chaser, I am the creator and co-host of the SNC FanChat, a podcast dedicated to the group. I also created SNC Quarter Notes, an online magazine for fans of Straight No Chaser and the general a cappella community.
