How lovely to find myself with an interesting and challenging career, where I get to explore the meaning of life, the purpose of narrative, how memory and the past are constructed, and the way higher education is shaped and shapes us. I am an Associate Professor of History and Chair of the Department of History and Political Science at King University in the lovely Appalachian mountains. I blog at www.truthslang.org. I also work on a range of other projects, including King's Buechner Institute. I earned my PhD from Michigan State in West African History (focusing on interwar Senegal and French West Africa), a MA also from MSU and a BA from East Tennessee State University. I have lived in Africa on more than one occasion and am always up for traveling to new places.
