Shantashree Mohanty
Civil Judge, Odisha Judicial Service and Editor, Carved Voices in Bhubaneswar, India
My name is Shantashree. 'Shantashree' in Odia, means 'the ocean'...may be that's how I am, serene on the surface, storm in heart. I'm 24 years old. I've a Masters Degree in Criminal & Securities Law and I'm a Civil Judge by profession, employed under Odisha State Judicial Service. Literature is the greatest passion of my waking life. I love to read. I love good cinema. I write. I don't adhere to strict forms of expression. I do a little bit of spoken word poetry, bit of short stories and non fictional snippets. Along with my friends Sonali and Purujeet, I curate an online Literary Magazine called Carved Voices that aims to make Art/Poetry mainstream.
I'm currently working on a book....but I might be saying that to...like Maggie Nelson put it, hold on to a sense of progress and perspective.
Albert Camus has been the greatest influence on my view of the world that we live in.
