Sharyn currently works at a Malaysian-based social enterprise focusing on sustainability in the oil palm sector. She was a former columnist with one of Malaysia’s leading national dailies, The Star newspaper. Through her writings, she explored Malaysia’s diverse society and culture. She has a keen interest in cultural norms and practices, and is especially intrigued by myths, legends and the supernatural. She graduated from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand with a BA in Media Studies and Anthropology.
