Shaun Wigley

Brisbane Queensland Australia

My name is Shaun and I am an admitted legal practitioner, law academic and musician (Bassoon) in the Brisbane area who also has an interest in travel and has visited 27 countries to date. The photo is of Lake Toba in North Sumatra during January 2014. Lake Toba is the largest volcanic lake in the world and is home to the friendly Toba Batak people who have their own unique language and customs and who have built beautiful wooden houses with pointy roofs all throughout the region, some of which are hundreds of years old. In the middle of the lake is an island, Palau Samosir (in the distance in the photo) which is about the size of Singapore. The island of Sumatra holds many surprises, imposing vistas, and distinct traditions that are still practised, and is definitely worth a visit! This page is currently under construction so my apologies for the current lack of content.
