Sheila Grimes

I grew up in New York State, a dairy farmer's daughter. I graduated from high school and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1967. I've been married 47 years and have 2 kids and 3 grandsons. I've been a nurse for over 35 years. I left work in 2010 to help my Mother, who had Alzheimer's Disease. I started writing a journal, I needed to vent, de-stress. One day, I just started writing down thoughts as I watched her, she became my muse (poems/prose came to life). I started my blog Alzheimer's Trail ... a journey with Mom Sept. 2012.

Mom passed away Sept. 2, 2015 from a fatal fall. I'm putting my blog (poems/prose) into self-published books (using createspace.com) to bring awareness to Alzheimer's Disease.

Thank you to all who have followed Alzheimer's Trail. Heaven knows where I'm going with this blog, but I do know it's cathartic for me.
