In my everyday life I'm a communications strategist focused on writing, editing, web content development and online management. My writing abilities extend to creative nonfiction for publications such as Kill Your Darlings and The Big Issue Australia.

I have a Master of Public Health and undergraduate degrees in linguistics, psychology and the history and philosophy of science. My public health knowledge has led to consultation work for international nongovernmental organisations and full-time communication roles in Australian agencies such as Sydney South West Area Health Service and Family Planning NSW.

Currently, I work for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. I'm the editor of ABC Pool, a social media space; presenter of Poolside Stories on ABC Radio National; and producer of radio documentary Saigon's Wartime Beat and pop-up station Lunar New Year on ABC Digital Radio.

I help bring ideas to the stage as a curator for TEDxSydney and I was the co-director of TEDxDoiSuthep 2011, the first ever TEDx event in Chiang Mai, Thailand. I regularly encourage people to get up on stage through my role with Now Hear This Storytelling Slam.

My favourite hat is a blue cloche with pink buttons, which I bought in Hanoi. I wear that one a lot.
