Shelley Wright

Saskatchewan, Canada

I am a high school teacher in Moose Jaw, SK. My main teaching disciplines are grade 10 -12 English, Biology, Chemistry & Technology, which to many people is a strange combination. To be honest, I love the variety. My main passion within these disciplines is teaching my students about social justice issues and helping them find ways to connect with and change the world.

I am an advocate for student centred learning. I believe there is nothing more powerful. I have had the wonderful experience of giving a TEDx talk on the power of student-driven learning.

I have a Masters degree in Ed Tech & Design, and will soon be continuing my education with an Ed.D. I am also incredibly fortunate to be a National Faculty member with Buck Institute for Education, which allows me to interact, teach and model PBL learning for teachers across North America. I also work for Discovery Educaiton as a PD Specialist.

I love to travel. And most importantly, I'm a wife & mom.
