How do you know when the “thing” you’re great at--your life’s mission, your purpose—is calling you? And when you know, how do you make it your vocation? You pay attention and you answer. In my case, I knew coaching was my “thing” when I stopped to connect the dots in my life and saw the obvious pattern. No matter the position I held, there were three things I’ve been told repeatedly: I’m an excellent listener, I’m ahead of my time, and I’m a great coach.

My abilities have helped to coach C-suite executives, contribute to the creation of a leadership evaluation tool for the U.S. D.O.E. and help teams improve their professional and personal lives.

Then there is my love of advocating for optimal health. This goes as far back as my first job when I volunteered to create and lead a health club that met after school. (Billy Blanks was the rave of the day and Tae Bo was the fitness “tape” of choice.) My passion for health also showed up in potlucks when I advocated that in addition to donuts and fried chicken we have whole grain fruit bagels and blackened salmon with mango salsa.

In all of my roles I found myself doing one thing well: coaching. And all good coaches know that to coach well, you have to coach the whole person (career, relationships, health and spirituality.) Essentially, I was applying my brain-based coaching techniques and my passion for wellness to coach the whole person.

Living that cycle for two decades is what helped me to know my superpowers: innovating, inspiring and coaching for wellness, wellbeing and transformation. And what better way to apply my superpowers as a way of life than to be an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach.
