Yasser El-Shimy

Yasser El-Shimy is the former Egypt Analyst at the International Crisis Group. Mr. El-Shimy is a former diplomat at the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He has published a chapter in Pacts and Alliances in History: Diplomatic Strategy and the Politics of Coalitions.

He has also taught at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C on U.S. Foreign Policy in the Middle East. He holds a BA and MA degrees in Political Science from the American University in Cairo, and is currently an ABD at Boston University's Department of Political Science. He speaks Arabic and English fluently.
