With more than 30 years experience in corporate, education and agency public relations, I have been involved in a variety of communications programs covering a wide scope of industries and interests. My background includes extensive experience in managing everything from event planning and media relations to crisis communications and issues management.

During my career, I’ve helped arrange for an eventual U.S. President to make a campaign visit to the Los Angeles County Fair, generated national media attention for a cattle drive along city streets, assisted the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim to “turn red,” and was instrumental in getting a story about Cal State San Bernardino’s Palm Desert Campus placed on the front page of the Sunday New York Times.

Along with cultivating positive news, I’ve overseen crisis communications in a variety of circumstances.

I served as associate vice president for public affairs at California State University, San Bernardino, as an account director at Magnet Communications, and communications and public relations manager at Fairplex in Pomona, Calif., home of the annual Los Angeles County Fair. I also was a broadcasting and publications assistant with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

As the chief public relations officer, I’ve been the voice and face of several organizations, during good times and bad. I’ve developed message points to address everything from community celebrations to emergency situations.

I'm a big sports fan, with a love for my Los Angeles-based teams. I've been commissioner of my fantasy football league for more than 30 years (back to the days when we waited for the Monday newspapers to find out the scores).

Throughout my life I've also gravitated to the world of beer, wine and spirits. Beginning with my beer can collection when I was in high school, I've always found something interesting about the beverage industry. Hence, the theme of my blog is "Sips, Suds and Spirits." Cheers!
