Once upon a time, I was a baby born in the Mediterranean island of Majorca, Spain. Then I became a young man learning to tell stories as a journalist and writer in Barcelona, and an idealist dreamer constructing visual imagery from a Cuban international film school. Love and destiny brought me to New York almost a decade ago, and the city gifted me the inspiration, and crafted my path into photography and visual arts.
As a visual storyteller, I am considered one of the pioneers of the mobile photography movement (since early 2008) and I've been lucky to have worked with celebrities in music, theater and film (Marketa Irglova, 24 Hour Broadway Plays, etc.), fashion brands and companies (BAR III for Macy's, Tory Burch, Beefeater, Panasonic, HP, UPS, Semsom...) and entrepeneurs in corporate events (Gamification Summit, Blue Coat, Castlight). I love doing portraiture, events, headshots and documentary and journalistic work, and I'll use whatever tool in my kit I feel goes best for the job. For my Street Photography work, though, mobile has become second nature and I continue to love it.
I've been sought to be a judge in worldwide photo competitions and have had my own work featured internationally in exhibits, TV segments, magazines, newspapers, blogs and several book covers. One of my images is in the permanent collection of the High Museum of Art in Atlanta. My last photo exhibit "New York, only for the brave" was held the Cervantes Institute in NYC this past December/early January
I've also been a public speaker and spokesperson about mobile photography, visual social media and storytelling (most recently with The Moth), and alongside my husband Anton Kawasaki I've co-created the successful "Mobile Photo Workshop: The Storytelling Series."
