Me in a nutshell: amateur historian, avid reader, genealogist and family historian, lover of cemeteries, scrapbooker, and budding photographer.
I have been researching my genealogy and family history for more than thirteen years. A few years ago, I discovered my true passion is cemetery research. I enjoy learning more about the art and history found in a particular cemetery, as well as researching the lives behind the tombstones. They may stand silently, but really speak loudly and can tell us oh so much. Not only about the individual memorialized, but also of the time period and surrounding community.
I live in the beautiful state of Georgia with a loving family that nourishes my passion.
I started the Southern Graves website and blog to chronicle the journeys through my many cemetery research projects. I hope you will come visit, follow along, and share in the experience with me.
