Sharmila Mukherjee

I teach English at Bronx Community College @ the City University of New York. I have a Ph.D. in English literature from New York University. I’m also a Penguin-published novelist. I enjoy reading, writing and am currently working on a book on the life-worlds of the poor in South Asian literature and films. My scholarship spans Asian American literature, African American literature and emergent literature of Afro pessimism.
