I am a 46 (no longer going on 46) year old kid who enjoys photography, blogging and writing, in general, and the occasional meal cooked in my New York-style galley kitchen. I love to look at the world from different points of view; my favorite view is upside down (lie on a park bench, hang your head over and watch people walk, that'll mess with your perspective.) I love fall with it's colors and beautiful golden colored light, and I think that Daylight Saving's time should be abolished as it messes with my sleep cycles for about a week or two. Sleep is very important for people with mental health issues; without it, we can easily come unglued and find ourselves in the hospital. I am a practicing Nichiren Buddhist, and do my best to live each day with compassion and respect for my fellow humans. Sometimes, I do not do very well at that, but I try. I have been told that I have a highly developed sense of right and wrong (by my father), and wonder if that means I do not see shades of gray. I wonder about everything, and I write to shake the knots of my thinking loose. When it comes down to it, I am who and what I am (don't know any other way to be; tried different personas earlier in life, and they didn't stick.) So, I am me, and live my days trying to be the best person that I can be that day. I am constantly in search of truth which, unfortunately, is a difficult concept in today's world. I do not like people who lie, who cheat, who talk about one thing and then do another, and who treat others badly. Maybe, I am hypersensitive as I do have a mood disorder which colors and informs my perception of other's actions. I am who I am, and even that is in a state of constant change. Sorry for the novella; when I write, the brain to finger filter disappears.
