I studied Islamic Studies, Arabic and Political Economics at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen, before settling in the United Arab Emirates in 1978.

My professional life spans over 35 years in the communications industry in the Middle East, working for local and international clients, such as A.T. Kearney, Microsoft, HP, Siemens and Mubadala.

Since 2009 I work with Hornok & Partner, a business consultancy assisting companies operating in the GCC states. One of the specialties at Hornok & Partner are the different generations that are the current players in the market. These generations are a great cultural challenge to Western companies, because they differ greatly in their behaviour. What implications this has in the business world can be experienced in our public seminars and workshops or inhouse consultations.
