Sophia Parafina

Sophia is a data janitor, competitive shooter, and a Geographer, which means she thinks about data, space, money, and shooting things. When not thinking about data, space, money or shooting, she munges and liberates data. She also spends a a lot of time hanging out at charreadas

Currently a developer relations engineer for Docker, Sophia has been a Code for America Fellow, the Director of Operations at OpenGeo and an Adjunct Professor at Hunter College. She was also a founder and CTO of IONIC Enterprise (acquired by Erdas) and a Senior Program Manager for In-Q-Tel, the CIA's venture capital fund.

Way back when, she worked for transportation and environmental engineering firms building geospatial infrastructure for LAX, TxDOT, and Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad.
