Soren Capawanna

Selected to attend the Transitioning to Management leadership program of Boston Children's Hospital, Soren Capawanna serves as Program Coordinator of the respected institution. Since joining the hospital in 2010, she has orchestrated and overseen day-to-day operations at the Brain Injury Center, where she acts as a liaison between the center and the Child Neurology Foundation as well as several other hospital departments. Soren Capawanna also collaborated with the Innovative Acceleration Program to implement a telehealth pilot that enables patients to utilize their home computers to communicate with providers, and she aided the hospital's Marketing Department in promoting the center. In addition, the fashion-forward Bostonian works part-time as an appointment-based Guide/Personal Shopper for Bonobos, Inc.

Soren Capawanna attended private boarding school Blair Academy in Blairstown, New Jersey, and she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English at Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. She began her career as a Session Assistant at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. In this capacity, she assisted three physicians, coordinating outpatient clinics, organizing medical records, and ensuring efficient clinic operation. At this facility, Soren Capawanna also aided in the creation of the hospital's first multidisciplinary clinic through the merger of radiation oncology and neurosurgery disciplines. Prior to accepting her current position, she served as an Administrative Assistant at Boston Children's Hospital.

A dedicated volunteer, Soren Capawanna belongs to the Young Professionals Group, through which she assists pediatric and adult patients of the Spaulding Rehabilitation Network. For Dickinson College, she interviews potential students off-campus, attends various recruiting events, and writes for the student newspaper. Providing a foster home for Boston Stray Cat Rescue, Soren Capawanna also supports Fuel the Cure, which benefits a number of charitable organizations. Beyond professional and philanthropic pursuits, Ms. Capawanna's interests include biking, traveling, cooking, participating in yoga, and enjoying music.
