Soumyasree started writing very young patroned by Voices, the school supplement of The Statesman, Kolkata, India. Since then she has freelanced exhaustively for the Kolkata editions of The Statesman, The Telegraph, The Asian Age, The Hindustan Times and The Times of India; the Pune edition of The Times of India; and a website called Chillibreeze. Working for children as volunteer for the Youth Wing of CRY and Mentaid (for the mentally challenged children) has been her passion. Interested in culinary experimentations, she maintains and contributes for the recipe section of a website. She was working as a stringer with Calcutta Times when she had to shift base to USA in January 2006, post wedding. There she became associated with a web-magazine called Palki as contributor and sub-editor. On her return to Kolkata, she worked as an independent consultant for www.thewineclub.in as a Social Media Manager, contributing blogger, team leader of bloggers and content writers. Presently based in Kolkata, she freelances for R3G LLC to create error-free, SEO-optimized Web and marketing copy; and works as an Independent Consultant for Compare Infobase as a Content writer where she creates high-quality error-free SEO optimized original content, unique titles, captions, descriptions, meta tags, meta descriptions etc, and blogs for client web-portals.
