My passion is to live simply and in alignment with my values. I enjoy using my skills to help empower others and positively contribute to my community.
For over a decade, I've been a location-independent website designer and IT consultant but recently also accepted roles in health care, as a prior authorization coordinator for a Federally funded Community Health Center in Vermont and as an IT program assistant for University of Illinois Chicago's COVID vaccination outreach program.
Prior to that, I provided network administration and tech support services to non-profit organizations, including an emergency shelter providing services for those unhoused and an organization dedicated to the implementation of nation-wide energy efficiency initiatives. I've served as Assistant to the Director of an organization advocating for people with developmental disabilities, as Network Administrator for the largest Community Land Trust in the U.S., and as In-Home Care Provider for the elderly through the Visiting Nurse's Association of America.
In 2010-2011 I designed and co-built a 260 ft² off-grid home as a part of an effort to embrace a minimalist lifestyle. In 2012 I took a sabbatical to bicycle tour from VT to CA then through Mexico, which required a dedication to living minimally, and changed my life.
For six years I was an international house and pet sitter while volunteering my tech skills to non-profit's promoting social justice, women's health & empowerment, and youth anti-bullying organizations in Mexico.
I have a B.A. in Fine Arts with a concentration in printmaking and sculptural ceramics. Sometimes, but not often enough, I find time to create art.
I believe each person has the power to affect change through small every day actions.
