Musician, product manager, and Consultant in Bengaluru, India

I am an independent product leader with over 14 years of experience in the software industry. While I've always been a 'product guy', over the years I've also played critical roles in technology, program & project management, with ample exposure to entrepreneurship and incubation.

Since becoming an independent consultant in 2009, I've paid most attention to startups and medium-sized businesses. My role typically is to give shape to the functional requirements of products, build their roadmaps, provide high-level advice and direction to set up high-performance self-organizing Agile teams that are often across locations and to finally oversee the execution of these projects. Of the various types of product managers, I fall pretty much in the traditional 'builder' category, a role which brings together the business, UI/UX, and the tech teams.

I take great pride in driving the vision, strategy, design, & execution of my products. Driving these and not necessarily owning, is key to my style of work. I'd describe my best qualities as being level-headed, honest, quick-witted, & fearless in driving the stakeholders towards the product goal.

I often build products and teams from scratch, including leading product teams, making it an ideal environment for me to thrive in. I use my experience working in enterprise set-ups to improve my work with the start-ups, and vice versa.

Currently (2018-19), I'm working on an insurance marketplace for the US market(helped build from scratch to MVP to GA and beyond), and I'm also busy helping the US healthcare giant athenahealth build their next-gen billing system (~USD1B revenue/yr.)

At a semi-professional level, I also play guitars and compose music in the hard rock/ heavy metal band Bevar Sea. Bevar Sea has two internationally well-received albums out & has carved its niche in the heavy rock and metal circles with coverage in major publications worldwide.
