It has been suggested that I may have grown taller than my meagre 5 foot 2 inches (rounded up to the nearest whole number) if I had spent my childhood outside..instead I spent my time indoors, writing.

I wrote a lot of scientific reports at university and then I proof-read/edited a lot of scientific reports for money before having two children and a complete mental breakdown (in that order). Apparently I am now sane, although Lovely Boyfriend disagrees, given my latest book.

I write two types of book: depressing or humorous. The depressing ones give the main characters different mental health issues to work through. The humorous ones involve drunken Vikings. I know which ones make me feel better day-to-day.
