Hi, I'm Stephanie. Hopefully, you've had time to look at some of my other pages, but if not, I'm a data analyst. I've worked on projects ranging from monitoring yearly changes in friendship in undergraduates to investigating if students do worse on tests when theytext in class. (Yes) I relish working with data sets to find the stories they can tell, and then telling those narratives in ways everyone can understand.
- Why data analysis?
I started my adult life out thinking that I wanted to be a counseling psychologist, so that I could learn about why people do what they do, and help them be successful in life. As time went on, however, I realized that I could accomplish this goal through data analysis, and simultaneously create cool new knowledge. I stayed in the field of psychology, using my data analysis skills to learn about human cognition and behavior. In doing so, I found the best of both worlds.
- Wait...you also teach statistics?
Yes I do! I enjoy statistics enough that I believe everyone, regardless of their job title, should have some data literacy. Otherwise, you have to trust me when I say that Miss America's age can predict steam deaths.
I'm honored to state that my students have awarded me twice, and all of my graduate student clients have passed their thesis evaluations.
- OK, so how can we work together?
Got a data set you're not sure what to do with? I'd love to hear what you want to know and provide expertise as to how to best answer that question.
Have questions but no data? Let's talk and see how to best go about efficiently getting the data you want.
Looking at charts and numbers make you want to pull your hair out? I can summarize it for you, in a way that you can not only understand this analysis, but future ones as well.
- Do you do anything else but look at numbers all day long?
