Stephen L. Garrett

Through my company EmpyreanMedia, I primarily make documentaries for non-profits, universities, and small businesses. I am also in the process of working on independent documentary films.

My main interests are the environment, international development, social causes, and cross-cultural understanding. I am a writer, camera-operator, and video editor with an eye for detail. Recently, two video series that I co-produce were nominated for 3 regional Emmy awards.

My work has taken me to 13 countries (and counting) as a field producer. In fact, I learned much of my video-making skills from talented filmmakers in Madagascar during a 2007 internship with DDC International.
