Stephen Geldmacher

Houston, TX

In preparation for his now thriving business career, Stephen (Steve) Geldmacher earned a BA from Louisiana State University and went on to garner an MPA, with a focus on public administration and management, from the same university. After holding a number of management positions with various telecommunications companies, he joined Southwest Bell Mobile Systems (now AT&T) in 1989. He quickly rose in the company and became president of the Northeast region, where he was responsible for 700 employees in 5 states and a $1.2-billion operating budget. While in this role, Stephen (Steve) Geldmacher effectively increased the region’s market share by 50 percent and grew the income margin by more than 40 percent.

Geldmacher was subsequently recruited to assume the roles of vice president and president with Sprint-Nextel. To facilitate foundational structures, he helped develop the company’s network planning, pricing structure, and marketing strategy. In just the first year, he successfully launched 42 retail stores and procured approximately 6.5 million new accounts. He also managed 800 employees, while keeping employee turnover at an industry low.

Currently, Stephen Geldmacher serves as the co-founder and CEO of Texas Air Shuttle, LLC, a commuter airline start-up company. He directs the company's financing and sales efforts, as well as its public relations and human resources divisions.
