Stephen M. Collins

STEPHEN M. COLLINS is an emerging professional with a solid technical foundation and intentions to identify and develop technologies that will disrupt the energy industry. His research on the movement of electrons spans from the nanoscale in semiconductors to the 75 billion kWh of power delivered annually in Southern California. Likewise, he brings a broad perspective to problem solving, having volunteered in five countries before pursuing a Physics degree from a liberal arts college, researching at two top-ten engineering schools and pursing an Electrical Engineering degree at a third premier university. As a student, he has been selected as the outstanding scholar representing the Western USA region of IEEE's Power and Energy Society. He holds various positions in the energy industry, working for a start-up, the nation's 2nd largest utility, and as the lead engineer for an international design-build-operate competition sponsored by the US Department of Energy.
