A financial professional, Steven Saslow serves as a consultant at The Blackstone Group in New York. In this capacity, he advises the company’s investment committee, mentors and trains analysts and associates, and maintains relationships with hedge funds. Steven Saslow has been with The Blackstone Group since 2002, when he joined to build the company’s first in-house hedge fund. He then spent three years serving as the chief investment officer of the Blackstone Relative Value Fund, before moving to Blackstone’s alternative asset management hedge fund solution group, BAAM. In 2007, he retired and accepted his current role of consultant.

Steven Saslow began his career at the Bank of New York after graduation from Rutgers College. In 1978 he joined Carroll McEntee & McGinley as a market maker for treasury securities. Within a few years, he was promoted to partner of the business, and when the company was sold to Marine Midland Bank, he stayed on as senior executive. A year later, he earned the title of trading desk manager, which he held for two years until Marine Midland Bank was sold to HSBC Bank. It was at this time that Steven Saslow was promoted to executive managing director at the company, handling everything from integrating capital market activities at HSBC to managing all fixed income trading at the securities company to managing a small global proprietary trading team up until he left in 2002.
