Steven Trowern

Possessing expertise in telecom analysis, corporate finance, investment banking, and management and strategies on loan mortgages, Steven Trowern cofounded MCM Capital Partners, LLC, in 2008. A Managing Partner of the firm, which employs more than 75 people in Bethesda, Maryland, he handles the overall portfolio as well as MCM’s investment initiatives. In previous positions, Steve Trowern served as Vice President of Investment Banking at Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. and as a Telecom Analyst at Moody’s Investors Service, Inc., in New York City. In the latter position, he became the youngest analyst to publish major coverage reports on AirTouch Communications, Tele-Communications, Inc., and The Walt Disney Company. He was 24 years old at the time. An entrepreneur as well, Steven Trowern co-founded Fuse Products, Inc., in San Francisco. Created to become “the Dell of consumer electronics,” the company folded during a market downturn. He raised the capital and acted as the Chief Financial Officer of the firm. A partner, Tony Fadell, subsequently joined Apple Inc., where he developed the iPod utilizing a Fuse prototype. A graduate of the University of Michigan where he earned a B.A. in International Trade and Finance, Steven Trowern received a Master of Management at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University. As an undergraduate, he studied abroad in Spain, and he completed graduate courses in Chile while working on his Master's degree. During the latter experience, Mr. Trowern served as a research analyst at Merrill Lynch in Santiago. Mr. Trowern supports the Alzheimer’s Association, Safe Return, and the relief efforts in Japan and Haiti of Times Square Church. A founding member of tuition scholarship organization 1601 Fund and an Executive Committee member of The Hope for Gus Foundation, Steve Trowern also sits on the Steering Committee of New Endeavors by Women. In other pursuits, he coaches youth soccer, plays in an adult soccer league, and belongs to several golf clubs. Steven Trowern also sails avidly and enjoys his membership in the Grosse Pointe Sail Club.
