I am the managing editor of Scientific American Mind, a bimonthly magazine on the brain and behavior. Most recently I've written about female geniuses, happy atheists, and the psychology of Starcraft 2.

Before joining Mind, I was an editor at IEEE Spectrum Magazine, where I wrote and edited features on environmental technologies, energybiomedical engineering, and engineers in far-flung corners of the world. For about a year, I did a whole lot of reporting on water, ultimately managing the production of an hour-long radio program and a multimedia special report on Water vs. Energy

My science and technology writing has also appeared in Newsweek International, the Wall Street Journal, Scientific American and New Scientist.
