About Me

After many successful years in business, I invested in my passion for education and went back to University in 2001, gaining a First Class Honours degree in Primary Education with Music and QTS. I am currently Deputy Head of Primary at Garden International School in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

I have recently started writing a monthly column in the Expatriate Lifestyles Magazine here in KL, and have posted links to them on my blog site (see the link under the photograph). It is interesting to write from the point of view as a parent who happens to be a teacher, rather than as a Deputy Head.

Outside school I enjoy sailing, entertaining, and spending time with my husband and son. As a family, we love to have fun making music, swimming, and exploring.

I believe passionately in education; making learning relevant, challenging and exciting for all learners, and in many ways follow the mantra of Dr. Seuss’s Cat In The Hat – “It’s fun to have fun but you’ve got to know how!”
