Health and fitness have always been an intrinsic part of Suzan Hughes’ life. A certified fitness expert, Suzan Hughes is also a brown belt in karate, creator of the highly acclaimed fitness aid ROLLERMAX, and the driving force behind Suzan Hughes Enterprises. Suzan Hughes has harbored a passion for fitness since the age of 12, when she discovered the fitness guru Jack LaLanne.

Inspired by his work, Suzan Hughes developed a fascination with human anatomy and physiology. Ms. Hughes spent years studying the many health benefits of exercise and vitamins, eventually finding a conduit for her passions when she was introduced to Mark Hughes, the founder of Herbalife International of America, Inc., which offers nutritional and weight management solutions to support a healthy lifestyle. Acting together, Mark and Suzan Hughes built Herbalife International of America, Inc. into a billion-dollar a year business. Based on her work with Herbalife International of America, Inc., Ms. Hughes has become recognized as a leading authority on herbal nutrition.

In conjunction with her work as a health and fitness expert, Suzan Hughes devotes her time to advocating for at-risk and needy children. Upon completion of a two-year course in parenting sponsored by Resources for Infant Educarers, Suzan Hughes co-founded the Herbalife Family Foundation (HFF), the nonprofit offshoot of Herbalife International of America, Inc. HFF provides nutritional aid for needy communities around the world. As of April 2010, HFF has expanded its Casa Herbalife program to include over 50 locations worldwide.

In addition to her leadership roles at Suzan Hughes Enterprises and HFF, Suzan Hughes is highly involved in her community. She has served on the Board of Directors for The Maple Counseling Center, Century City 4 Kids, and the Chaim Sheba Medical Center. As Chairperson of the Star Gem Foundation, Ms. Hughes has educated 20,000 Los Angeles schoolchildren on health and safety issues. Suzan Hughes is also active in the D.A.R.E. program and received its The Future of America Award along with Sugar Ray Leonard. Among numerous other recognitions, Ms. Hughes’ social service work has also been lauded by the Southern California Counseling Center, which honored Suzan Hughes with the Wallis Annenberg Founders Award.
