Media Arts Educator and Podcast Producer in Salt Lake City, UT

Listen to my podcast

I grew up in Edmonton, Alberta- at first in a big pink house near the University of Alberta where my dad worked... three boys, two girls, a dog, some rabbits, guinea pigs, I think one turtle and certainly some hamsters all under one roof, led by my mother, who cooked big spaghetti dinners and orchestrated our education and plentiful extra-curricular lives... I literally took a knot-tying class.

I was lucky to get a strong and creative start in life and left home early to wind my way to here.... Salt Lake City–home. I think of myself as an educator, a journalist and my degrees (Bachelors in Anthropology and Masters in French Literature) actually come in handy... when I teach Humanities at the local college or for the science radio show I co-produce for public radio and in my work in documentary arts. What currently has my full attention is how powerful a story can be and my work is to help teachers use / integrate digital storytelling as a teaching strategy into their classrooms -- I work at SHIFT (Spy Hop Institute for Teachers) where that is what we do. I have a strong community of professionals/friends that constantly inspire me and an adorable beagle named Pyle who is my favorite mountain hiking partner ~
