Tammy Fry

Overland Park, KS

Tammy Fry is lead instructor of the 2020 Teacher Education program, part of the Center for Advanced Professional Studies in the Blue Valley School District, in Overland Park, Kansas. This program immerses students in 21st century skills as they participate in real classrooms for observation and hands-on applications and allows them to be part of transformational teacher preparation programs and practices. Mentorships and collaboration with community, business partners, universities, and current teachers enhances this opportunity which focuses heavily on the integration of technology. The CAPS Teacher Education program was featured in the October 2012 issue of THE Journal.
Ms. Fry has been immersed in the field of education for 30 years in a variety of roles: cooperating teacher for several student teacher candidates, teacher in private and public settings including middle school, high school, and community college, and as a trainer in both district and other professional development arenas.
Most recently, prior to her position with the Center for Advanced Professional Studies, Ms. Fry was the Technology Integration Specialist at Blue Valley Northwest High School, assisting teachers with integrating technology into their curriculum. Her experience in the area of cutting-edge technologies and as a middle and high school communication arts teacher have shaped her into a leader in her district and beyond in the area of educational technology. Professionally, she has presented at FETC, NECC, CoSN, MACE, among others, and has served in the past on the CoSN Conference Planning Committee.
