I am an experienced nonprofit professional with an extensive background in gender-based violence (GBV) primary prevention programing, educational outreach, print and online communications development, advocacy, development, and research.
Currently, I work as the Program Director at Safe Haven Ministries. I am also a graduate of the Master of Public Administration program at GVSU, where I emphasized in nonprofit management and leadership.
I have an extensive background working in domestic violence and sexual violence organizations--in higher education and at the state and national level.
I am passionate about ending sexual violence and domestic violence and recognize the need to approach these issues from a systemic level. It is not enough to look at a single perpetrator of violence or the victims/survivors of a crime; instead, it is important to examine the systems and cultural norms that often perpetuate these crimes. In all the work I do, I strive to make community collaboration an intentional component.
