Tara cut her teeth in the media business as a newspaper reporter, spending a lucky seven years on many challenging beats. In 2008, she bid goodbye to print, cleaned her blackened fingertips, and dove into the internet full-time.
Today, she writes and edits online curriculum at an art university, and she steers the editorial content of Muni Diaries: a niche media start-up. Her work has appeared online for National Geographic Education, Wired.com, Pawesome, The Bold Italic, Weddingbee, Busted Halo, and Planet magazine. She acquired a host of new skills since her digital turnaround, particularly in regard to the social web and its connections to traditional journalism.
Home is San Francisco's Mission District with her husband and a wily Boston terrier. Free time is high time for travel, Bikram yoga, $10 cocktails, photobooth-hogging, and retrieving untold calories in her eater's paradise.
