Amherst, Massachusetts, United States

I am currently enrolled at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in the Isenberg School of Management under the Sports Management program. I am passionate about pursuing a career within the sporting industry, specifically in college athletics. Having work experience in both the professional and amateur sides of athletics has given me a unique perspective about the operations of athletics on the large scale. I hope to be able to work as a collegiate Athletic Director and make a positive impression on whatever future student athletes under my watch.

Having worked in both the amateur and professional sporting industry has exposed me to a wide range of jobs. While an intern with the Ocean State Waves, a New England Collegiate Baseball League team based out of Southern Rhode Island, I had the opportunity to work in a variety of different positions establishing a well-rounded understanding of baseball operations. However baseball is not my sport of choice, soccer is. I was able to use this foundation in the sporting industry that I developed with the Ocean State Waves to get an opportunity to become an Intern with the URI Men’s Soccer Team. Here I was able to put my willingness to do any job to the test. There were days where I would be filing medical papers, organizing equipment and then finishing the day entering thousands of potential recruits into a database that the coaches use to further the program.

My passion for sports does not only stem from holding a future position within collegiate athletics but also from my upbringing. Growing up in a house with two older brothers, one being a Division 1 track athlete, my life has always revolved around sports. As a kid I participated in nearly every youth sport offered in my town (Little League Baseball, Recreational/travel soccer and recreational basketball). As I grew older my interest in certain sports changed slightly, picking up volleyball as my secondary sport behind soccer. However my passion and love for sports has never been in question. As a captain of my high school’s Division 1 state champion volleyball team, I lead and helped every member of the team maximize their skill set. Sports are as much a part of me as my own beating heart. Our championship run exemplified how much I put into sports and the rewards that follow from such dedication and resilience in the face of adversity better than anything.
