Singer Songwriter

Thalia Condo is an acclaimed multi-talented singer/songwriter of Latin, folk and pop music.

Thalia was first exposed to the sounds of music in her native Guayaquil, Ecuador, when at a very young age; she discovered an old piano in her family’s home. That piano quickly sparked her life long love of creating music, later she also began to learn guitar.

Thalia moved from Guayaquil to Salt Lake City shortly after being accepted to the University of Utah. During her college years, she continued to write music and play locally both with indie bands and as a solo artist.

She has played at many local venues across the northwest and received critical acclamations. Thalia met producer Matt Winegar (Spoon, Primus, and Peter, Paul & Mary) and they soon began production on her first EP.

In 2009, Thalia received her first nomination in the International Songwriting Competition (ISC), in the category of “Best Latin Music Composition” for her composition, "Te Quiero". The song was also featured on the MTV (Tr3s) show, “Dame un Break”, an international music contest sponsored by Yahoo and Verizon Wireless.

Recently, Thalia was nominated for the 2010 ISC in the “Best Latin Music Composition” category, for her song “Escapados”.

Her self-titled EP will be independently released during 2012. The album was recorded in Salt Lake City, produced by Thalia and Matt, with the collaboration of talented local musicians, including Tommy Mortensen.

The EP is a superb mix of pop, rock, bossa-nova, and features various latin rhythms. The album includes the songs: "El Sol", "Escapados", "Que Puede Pasar", "Llévate", and her acclaimed hit, "Te Quiero".
