Lauren Scott is a secondary Media Resource Specialist (librarian) at Cockrill Middle School in McKinney, Texas. She has thirteen years of educational experience, including nine years of elementary classroom teaching experience and four years of secondary librarianship experience. Lauren holds a masters degree in Library and Information Science from Texas Woman's University.

Lauren is an advocate for the school community in a variety of ways. One of her biggest passions is creating a library space that is a true learning commons, where members of the school community feel welcome and comfortable learning, collaborating, communicating, and exploring in new ways. She is also passionate about digital literacy and citizenship, introducing great literature to students, and telling the story of the library/learning commons through social media.

She is an active member of the Texas Association of School Librarians and the Texas Computer Education Association. She is also a member of the Texas Library Association's Spirit of Texas (SPOT) Reading Program Committee (2020-2023).
