THE NATIVES

THE NATIVES

When most people hear the word native, they think of something that exists naturally. That's exactly how you feel when you hear the hip-hop group The Natives. This Cincinnati born and raised Rap/Future band consists of four artists; JJ, Feeno Goodie, Hap, and Champayne (Champ).

When you hear a song from these guys, its not hard to tell they've been creating music all their lives. Connected through mutual friends, the band immediately meshed, and The Natives were formed. While they've only been making music together for two years, their explosive talent would lead you to believe that they've been doing this for decades. The group is diverse within itself; Goodie plays the drums and rhymes, JJ (who was a main character on MTV'S hit show Taking the Stage) is a piano prodigy with an amazing universal voice, Champ is a spitter as well as a producer who is also a classically trained on saxophone and self taught keyboardist, while Hap produces and raps with ability not matched by many.

Growing up around music all of their lives, their wide range of influences (which include The Wu Tang clan, Ohio Players, Herbie Hancock, Biggie, Jay-Z, Little Dragon, as well as Gospel music) are fused into their music, producing a sound all it's own that is unique and original. The Natives are known for their live show where they display their originality and innovation for thier fans. So far The Natives have performed along side: Talib Kweli, Michael Buble, Wiz Khalifa, MGK, Chip tha Ripper, and Stalley.

The Natives completely wrote, produced, and released their award nominated debut project "Native America" in 2012.
