Tianyi Wang

A member of the American Association of Immunologists and the American Society for Microbiology, Tianyi Wang has conducted in-depth research into the hepatitis C and Dengue fever viruses. He laid the foundation for his clinical accomplishments by earning a bachelor of medicine from Beijing Medical University in Beijing, China, and a PhD in microbiology from Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Tianyi Wang went on to pursue postgraduate studies in mass spectrometry proteomics and immunology at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, New Mexico, and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute in Los Angeles.

Over the course of his career, Tianyi Wang has held faculty positions in the University of Pittsburgh’s Molecular Virology and Microbiology Program, Cancer Virology Program, and Department of Infectious Diseases and Microbiology. Courses taught by Mr. Wang cover topics ranging from viral pathogenesis and scientific ethics to global infectious diseases and host responses to microbial infection.
